MOCA is building a comprehensive system of internal and external communications for the federal government, to keep up with global developments and to support the federal government’s strategic plan. In 2008, the GCO was established within the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to be the key link in streamlining the communication between the Cabinet and the different federal ministries and entities.
Over the past years, has contributed in building integrated communications systems for the federal government, including the launch of 2009 Government Communication Strategy, the federal 2014-2016 Government Communication Strategy which helped develop a roadmap for government organizations to unify the voice and reputation of the government, thus promoting the UAE position. To this end, the GCO sets unified standards and procedures for government branding, unifies government address on various important issues, and supports the making of government decisions. It also prepares regular studies and reports on media and government communication, and effectively contribute to building specialized government communication capabilities, as well enhancing coordination and exchange of experience among federal entities.
