Al Olama: Action Plan for Developing Talents and Enhancing Capabilities of National Leaders in Future Technology Projects
His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, has affirmed the UAE’s commitment to exploring opportunities in advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and big data solutions across various government sectors. Additionally, there is a concerted effort to implement an action plan aimed at developing talents and enhancing the capabilities of national cadres to lead future technological projects.
This came during a session that addressed key developments in the field of artificial intelligence at the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2023 in Abu Dhabi, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
His Excellency noted that governments undergo developmental stages and grapple with external factors impacting their performance, posing challenges in goal achievement. Nevertheless, successful governments are actively pursuing and implementing best practices in the technological sectors. This strategic approach supports their overarching goal of serving humanity, society, and the economy.
Al Olama said: “Our objective is to explore opportunities in various government sectors related to new technologies like artificial intelligence and big data, capitalising on their significant potential. We are actively working on launching a comprehensive action plan to nurture talents and enhance the capabilities of Emirati cadres for leading future technological projects”.
The session covered key challenges and opportunities in the government's adoption of artificial intelligence. It explored strategies to leverage opportunities and address challenges, aiming to effectively integrate artificial intelligence across various fields. The goal is to expedite digital transformation and achieve optimal outcomes in strategic sectors.
